Kauffman Stadium Bag Policy 2024 – Even More Strict Now!

Home to the Kansas City Royals, the stadium has updated its bag allowances for 2024 games. According to the Kauffman Stadium bag policy, only clear bags under 12 x 12 x 6 are permitted, along with 1-gallon clear zip bags. The ballpark also allows entry with small clutches under 9 x 5 inches.  

“Their bag restrictions are flexible for medical bags and infant diaper bags, but these undergo additional inspection before entry.”

The reinforced policy provides increased security for tickets, whether it’s a Royals game or other events at Kauffman.

Some of the prohibited items at the baseball stadium include weapons, glass bottles, outside food and drinks (except for specific medical conditions), banners, or signs larger than 3 x 5 feet.

Additionally, baseball bats aren’t allowed inside the stadium, including the outfield and home plate areas.

Bag Policy at Kauffman Stadium – Approved Bag List for Entry

Kauffman Stadium follows its 2024 updated bag policy along with the existing rules. To ensure getting a hassle-free visiting experience, you should go through the details about the policies given below:

Clear Bag No Larger Than 12” x 12” x 6”

Under this rule, you can carry one transparent bag measuring no more than 12 x 12 x 6 inches. 

The clear bag should be made from plastic, vinyl, or PVC material. These readily available materials make it easier for you to comply with the policy without too much trouble. 

“Keep in mind that tinted or printed designs on bags aren’t allowed according to Kauffman’s policy. However, you can carry bags with logos of sports teams including the Kansas City Royals.”

Note: Don’t stretch your bag with stuff. Having lots of items makes it hard for visual scans. This will take more time to pass the process. 

1-Gallon Clear Zip-Seal Bag

You can access the Kauffman Stadium with a 1-gallon clear zip-seal bag. It’s part of their new bag policy. 

These transparent bags make manual checking easier for the Royals security staff, as they can easily view visitors’ content inside the bag.

Small Clutch Bags Under 9″ X 5″

In terms of clutch bags, the policy is flexible for small-size options, under 9 x 5 inches. And I think it’s a fair size if you don’t have a hell load of stuff to carry. 

Exceptions for Medical Reasons and Infant Care

Just like any baseball ballpark, it’s allowed to bring and carry medical bags and baby care products inside the Kauffman Stadium. Go through the below information to learn more about these exceptions for Royals fans:

Medical Bags after Proper Inspection

Other Items Allowed Inside The Bags

For visitors struggling with cold, Kauffman Stadium allows access with blankets inside the ballpark for Royals fans.

Binoculars are also allowed, so you can get a closer look at all the action happening on the field.

Another good part is Royals Stadium allows water, and sports drinks with electrolytes. But these must be in unopened plastic bottles while accessing the ballpark. 

However, the size should be 1 liter or smaller.

Special Note on Baseball Bats

As a fan, you may want to get your favorite player’s signature on your baseball bat. 

Unfortunately, bringing bats inside the venue is strictly prohibited inside Kauffman Stadium for the safety and enjoyment of all guests. 

But that’s legit. Even professional MLB players often get into fights. So, it’s riskier to leave baseball fans of two teams in the ballpark.

Sometimes even the fans hit other guests accidentally with bats. You don’t need to be on either side, don’t you?

Temporary Storage Options for Prohibited Items: Location and Fee

If you’ve items that are prohibited inside Kauffman, you can use the temporary storage options available for a small fee. Such as:

Locker Rentals or Storage Facilities

Kauffman Stadium doesn’t offer any bag locker or storage facility. However, you can use locker services like Bindox Lockers, which is near the stadium. They have:

• Medium Lockers for single items like backpacks, computer bags, a jacket, etc. (10 x 16 x 22 inches)
• Large Lockers for multiple items (16 x 16 x 22 inches)

Guest Services Assistance for Bag-Related Concerns

Rather than that, you can always contact the Guest Service team of the venue for assistance. The staffs were friendly in my case. 

Entry and Bag Inspection Procedures in Kauffman Stadium

The security team of the ballpark is caring but doesn’t compromise any rules held by the administration. 

Upon entering Kauffman Stadium, you’ll encounter various security measures, including bag screening.

Consequences for Non-compliance

Make sure to be respectful towards the staff to have a stress-free experience at Kauffman Stadium.

Failure to comply with the policy at Kauffman Stadium or engage in disruptive behavior with their staff may result in refusal of entry. 

Moreover, guests who are thrown out won’t receive a refund. They consider such behaviors to violate their policy.

Such an alternative is their reverse ATMs. You can enjoy completely cashless transactions with all sorts of payment cards. It was introduced to replace traditional ATMs.

So, you can purchase food, drinks, merchandise, and other items with ease.

You can find their ATM machines at various locations throughout the stadium. Look out for signage or current information in the stadium to find these reverse ATM locations.

Food and Water Bottle Policy in Kauffman Stadium

Yup, Kauffman Stadium lets you bring in outside foods and non-alcoholic drinks, as long as you follow a few rules. Find out more about the food options and water bottle policy inside the stadium.

They have stands everywhere selling classic ballpark favorites like hot dogs, burgers, nachos, and peanuts. 

I was able to find some healthier options too, including salads, veggie burgers, and gluten-free pretzels. 

Kauffman Stadium Foods You Must Try

In Section 239, there’s an exciting new stand called Palacana serving up Mexican frozen treats like paletas (fruit popsicles), tacos, and agua fresca (fresh fruit water).

Another new can’t-miss spot is KCQ (Local Craft BBQ) located in Section 232.

This kiosk will highlight Kansas City’s legendary barbecue, featuring smoked meats from local pitmasters, like brisket burnt ends, pulled pork, and fall-off-the-bone ribs.

For shareable appetizers, several Loaded Nachos locations are there. They allow fans to customize nachos with melted cheese, salsa, and cilantro lime sour cream. You can also pick the choice of meat toppings like chipotle chicken or taco beef.

Hot dogs cost me $6.95 during my last visit.

Overall, I guess, the ballpark food and drinks are sure to fit a range of budgets.

One thing’s for sure – with diverse options from KC faves to traditional ballpark bites, there’s something appetizing for every fan’s taste buds this season!

Kauffman Stadium Water Bottle Policy

Guests at Kauffman Stadium are allowed to bring in unopened plastic bottles of water or sports drinks. But it should be 1 liter or smaller in size. 

Well, that’s good enough to keep yourself hydrated throughout the game. And if needed, you can get beverages inside the stadium.

Additionally, non-frozen, soft-sided single juice or milk containers aren’t allowed into the stadium.

Alcohol Consumption Rules in Kauffman Stadium

You need to be 21 or older to buy alcohol there. In addition, they’ll only sell 2 alcoholic drinks per order too. 

“However, remember that guests cannot bring alcohol into or out of the stadium.“

I guess that’s a good way to avoid people overdoing alcohol consumption. 

Note that alcohol sales at general concession stands on the concourse stop in the 8th inning. Sales in premium areas continue until the end of the game.

There are lots of beers on tap and mixed drinks you can get, which is nice for sipping on a cold one while watching the game. 

“Any instances of drunken behavior or violation of the alcohol policy will result in immediate ejection from the stadium without a refund.”

Updated Parking Policy in Kauffman Stadium

It was a breeze for me to get friendly with the parking policy at Kauffman Stadium. I recommended purchasing parking passes online in advance for regular season games.

• General parking pass cost: $20
• Reserved parking pass cost: $30
• Oversize vehicle parking pass cost: $40

“Unauthorized vehicle parking within 100 feet of the stadium’s exterior is strictly prohibited.” 

When you arrive at the ballpark, first you need to show your parking pass to the toll gates for entry. 

I saw season ticket members can purchase Reserved parking with discounts. Therefore, you need to access your STM account. 

Exit and Re-entry Rules in Kauffman Stadium

The exit and re-entry policy at Kauffman Stadium is some sort of blend for situations. For example, in general, they don’t allow re-entry after you exit the stadium. 

But in terms of emergencies, they show flexibility. Also, you can re-enter if you can cook a valid reason. 

I suggest letting the gatekeepers know about your reason when leaving the ballpark.
