Anderson Flex BBCOR Reviews | Honest Baseball

Last Updated on March 16, 2022

Here I came with another review and this time it is Anderson Flex BBCOR reviews.

I have always loved my composite bat. Don’t get me wrong. Composite bats are good with balance and force. And yes, if you can break in well then the bat can even last a lifetime.

But oh boy! Anderson Flex bat did the trick for me.

Certainly, as a coach of high school baseball for eight years did let me see many bats.

But when my team captain offered to check Anderson Flex 2018 for him, I just got interested and started digging further.

Anderson has been in the market since 1996. But the Anderson Flex is their flagship product launched in 2018. As an alloy bat, it looked good to me and I tried some hits with it. The bat is well balanced and not for novices. I will tell you more about it in this blog.

Anderson Flex BBCOR 18 Bat Is An Alloy Bat

Anderson Flex BBCOR Reviews

Anderson launched the Flex bat in 2018. Since launching, it has been very popular among high school players. The bat is a one-piece bat. It means the whole body is nicely made out of one piece of metal.

We all know one-piece bats are made for maximum force and impact. Not quite for the sting repellent but rather these are hit for hard-hitters who want to use their full force.

As for Aluminum alloy bats, I can say the Anderson bat is made out of good alloys. AB-9000 aerospace aluminum alloy is particularly used in the bat. Exactly one of the alloys you find in the airline industry.

As a result, I got really into the bat pretty soon.

Anderson Flex BBCOR As An Alloy Bat

Anderson Flex 2018 is made with aerospace aluminum alloy. Like other alloy bats, it is indeed, end-loaded, but the total bat is well balanced.

Besides, it is a single wall bat. A one-piece single wall baseball bat is made for strong durability, vibration consumption, and flexibility at the sweet spot. A double-wall bat may provide you with a wider sweet spot, but the flexibility a one-wall bat provides is very useful to experienced players.

If you want to know more about the bat, please continue to the end of the blog.

Anderson Flex BBCOR Durability

A one-wall one-piece bat – Anderson Flex is stronger than most other alloy bats I know. The company is very confident in the bat they have built. Anderson gives a full 12-month warranty for this bat.

It means, the bat is very durable to work with normal balls, even has good durability for hard hitters hitting 90+ speedballs regularly.

Break-in details

All composite bats need to break in at first. But alloy bats do not need a break-in period. If you do really want to try, then you should swing 50-60 balls using a slower speed.

After each of the balls, rotate the bat a little bit so that the balls may reach all of the points of the bat.

This can help you to keep the bat fit for a long time.

But for Anderson Flex BBCOR, you can really skip it and start hot without thinking twice.

Handle

Anderson Flex is a one-piece bat, which means the handle and the barrel are made from the same workpiece. It increases the force, strength, and speed.

The handle of Anderson Flex is a whip handle. It is indeed a good grip and I scored several home runs at my practice match. The handle is targeted for speed above all other qualities.

If you are suffering from speed problems with any two-piece bat, then you must try this alloy bat soon.

An End Loaded Bat Has More Weight At The End

Balance

Like most other alloy bats, it is an end-loaded bat. But all over it is so well balanced that you may feel rather balanced while hitting.

End-loaded bats actually do perform very well for speed. While hard-hitting, they may give you better opportunities if you are going for a home run.

Pop

While I was making some good hits with the bat, I did find a good pop altogether. I already knew it is a well-balanced one-piece bat. But the feel was great while hitting hard

Thinking that it may be only my brain tricking me, I started to dig deeper.

While I did that, I found out that most of the users also felt the same thing.

The bat gets an average 4-5 score while it comes to a pop.

So the ball always goes further than expected while you are using Anderson Flex.

Vibration

Anderson Flex does absorb the vibration well enough. I have felt less sting than even composite two-piece bats when it comes to bad hits.

The bat does not return the vibration and puts on maximum force to hit the ball quite well.

There are indeed better bats with less sting, but for a starter or hobby player, it is a good bat with less sting with all the best features.

Sweet Spot

While writing Anderson Flex BBCOR reviews. I was waiting to tell you about the sweet spot because it gave me a sweet feeling.

Double-wall alloy bats are mainly made for the better sweet spots. But you cannot deny the flexibility of a single wall bat. Anderson Flex is designed in such a way that it may not reach as well as a double-wall bat works, but it gives you enough sweet spot to have a good score.

Technical Details Pros and Cons

Anderson Flex has a BBCOR barrel diameter of 2 and a 5/8th inch and the Length to Weight has a -3 ratio. A good balance and end load give you a better opportunity with a great design.

While a bigger diameter is meant for better speed, BBCOR bats are meant for energy balance. Not only that, although Anderson Flex is not as much bigger in diameter, the end load works quite well to recover it.

A double wall barrel may have a bigger sweet spot, but as a single wall barrel, it gives you better durability and strength.
