When it comes to slowpitch softball, you need more contact hitting rather than power hitting. The game is slower than regular softball matches. So, you need tailored bats that are perfect for the occasion.
I will present the best slowpitch softball bats to you in this blog. If you are looking for the best bats for a slowpitch softball match, then you should go through the whole blog. As I have decided to make the list depending on your budget and needs, this will be very useful to you.
What Are the difference between a fastpitch and a slowpitch softball bat?
Fastpitch bats are usually lighter and stronger. Besides contact, they need the ability to hit harder with force and power. There are no limitations on the style of the pitching, so the ball may be slow or fast. As a result, you need to be prepared for all the options for hitting.

On the other hand, the slowpitch games are slower than usual softball games. The games need more hitting impact rather than blunt force. The bats are usually heavier than normal softball bats. The barrels of slowpitch bats are usually two and a quarter inches in diameter. For their heavy posture, they can easily help you to hit the slow balls.
In the fastpitch, there is no restriction about the pitching styles. But in the slowpitch version of softball, you need to maintain particular criteria for pitching. As a result, this game is one of the most sophisticatedly tailored to the baseball-softball genre.
What kinds of bats are good as a slowpitch softball bat?
You can always find different kinds of bats available for softball. Not so much different from baseball. But as softball, particularly slowpitch softball requires heavier bats. Following are different kinds of baseball and softball bats available for playing with:
One Piece Bats
One-piece bats are made out of one single piece of wood or metal. The metal can be alloy or composite material. They are good for hard-hitting and good impact on balls as you can send the full force from grip to barrel. Expert players like this kind of bat. Most of the one piece bats are approved on MLB and softball matches.
Two-Piece Bats
Two piece bats are made out of two pieces. One part is the handle and another part is the barrel. They are joined by special construction. Most of the two pieces bats are composite bats. These bats are good for force distribution as the handle has special types of bonds with the barrel. Not only that, these composite bats are constructed to give more sweet spots for playing.
Here is a detailed article on One piece Vs Two piece bats.
When it comes to material, these are the types:
- Wooden bats:
Made out of high quality ash wood, maple wood, bamboo or other types of wood.
- Alloy bats:
Mostly made out of aluminum alloys. Alloy bats are strong and have higher durability.
- Composite bats:
Composite bats are made out of mixed metals. Sometimes even the handle can be alloy and the barrel can be composite.
Due to strength, sweet spot, and weight distribution, composite 2-piece bats are the best choices for a slowpitch softball game. It is followed by alloy bats.
You can learn more about Alloy Vs Composite.
In my blog, most of my choices are composite bats for this reason.

6. DeMarini Lady Cartel 2022 – Best Aluminum Alloy Bat
I am not very fond of alloy bats. You can see that on my other blogs. But I like this one for special reasons. And it should be mentioned here I bought my daughter one of these.
DeMarini is a good name when it comes to baseball accessories. None of their accessories will ever disappoint you.
But DeMarini Lady Cartel has some unique specialties as an individual bat.
It is not an end load or balanced bat. Rather it is a mid-load bat. This means it can become easily fit for anyone who uses it. Power hitters will get benefits from this bat, while contact hitters will also enjoy using it.
It has an alloy handle. The alloy handle opens new opportunities as a slowpitch bat for a new player in the softball matches.
Besides the alloy handle, the color is also very attractive.

8. Easton Fire Flex 2021 – Best Pop
The Easton Fire Flex bat gives you the best pop. But when it comes to durability and sweet spot, it can match Miken Freak Primo.
The right softball bat size should meet the demand of the player. This one is 34 inches but 28oz. It is perfect for serious players who are already good with force and speed.
Unlike other slow-pitch softball bats on my list, this one is made out of carbon fiber which makes it best for a power hitter. Although parts are made out of the same material, this is a two-piece bat, and the carbon fiber is sometimes considered harder than steel.
It is certainly better than any one-piece bat in the field when it comes to softball. As a player in both baseball and softball matches, I can assure you that.
It is player weighting loaded. So the barrel loading will match whatever your size is.
Altogether, it can be a good gift for a regular player.

You can get the price between $300-$320. It is a good choice within a short budget.
9. Easton Rebel Slowpitch Softball Bat – Best Rookie Bat
No, Easton Rebel is not a Pro-player bat, certainly. But this is one of the top bats when it comes to slowpitch softball. You cannot deny the specialties of the bat.
I cannot say, you will get a home run in the first game with this bat, but you can rely on the bat without a doubt.
It is an aluminum alloy bat. Although I am not a big fan of alloy bats, I still recommend them to all the rookies on my team.
Easton is already a good name when it comes to all kinds of baseball accessories, and for slowpitch, it showed what can be best within a minimum budget. Go for it if you are new to the game.
Even for transitions between fastpitch and slowpitch, this is quite a good bat.
The material is fully military grade, and the design has a thin handle. This ensures the best impact on slowpitch balls.
Above all, this bat is a to-go for ALL of the matches from ASA, USA, and USSSA.

The body is a mix of black, ash, and red color. Other combinations are also available.
The bat is an end loaded bat. It makes the bat good for hitting hard. That’s why power hitters always like it.
It cancels the vibration and you can feel a good grip while hitting. But yes, it will need a good break in period.
With a bigger barrel and larger sweet spot, this is a good softball bat you can buy without thinking twice.

- Better looking than other bat for slowpitch
- Longer bat lives
- USSSA approved

The bat costs $300-$350. It is a reasonable price for this good bat.
Break in of a Composite Bat
A composite bat always needs a break in. Otherwise it will not be able to last longer. Without a break in period, a composite period can suddenly break or get busted. So it is essential to do the break in perfectly. Following these steps you can break in a composite bat within a short time:
Step – 1: Tell your training partner to soft toss softballs at one quarter of his/her natural speed. Take your bat. Use a quarter of your strength and hit the balls. Go on for 100-200 balls like this.
Step – 2: Tell the peacher to toss at half of the strength. Now, use half of your strength with your softball bat and face them rotating your arm half. Go on like this with the softball bat for 100-200 balls.
Step – 3: Now use a little more force and rotation of your arm and face 100-200 balls more. Carry on like this.
Step – 4: Use full of your strength and face 100-200 balls like this. The peacher should also use full strength.
At this point, the break in should be done perfectly. If you can do it in this way, a composite bat can become your relaible partner.
But please never use machines for the break in period. It can certainly harm a composite bat.
