After the 2019 season, the Cleveland Guardians bag policy was changed to allow a maximum clutch size of 9” x 5” x 2”. But fortunately, this changed during the 2022 season due to fans’ feedback.
So, what is the current Progressive Field bag policy? The home of Cleveland Guardians now allows small bags not exceeding the size 16” x 16” x 8”. This is the universal permitted bag size for most of the ballparks.

Progressive Field Bag Policy: New Policy in 2023
Progressive Field bag policy has returned to its previous 2019 form since 2022.
The policy is simple. You can bring bags not larger than 16” x 16” x 8”. Here is the list of permitted bags. Aside from these bags, other bags are not allowed inside the Progressive Field.
- Purses
- Handheld clutches
- Clutches with straps
- Fanny packs
- Handbags
- Soft-material-made small bags
Backpacks are not allowed. Nothing to mention, the 16” x 16” x 8” size is a universal size for most of the ballparks.
However, after the 2019 MLB season, Cleveland Guardians authority prohibited bags larger than 9” x 5” x 2” inside their home ground. However, due to the fans’ feedback, they changed their policy to the universal size.
Manufactured Diaper Bags and Medical Bags Are Exceptions
Aside from the size mentioned, manufactured diaper bags for children and medical equipment bags are exceptions. There is no issue with the size of these.
So, you can bring any sized diaper bags and medical bags if required.

Hard-Sided Coolers Are Prohibited
Hard-sided coles are strictly prohibited. You can only bring soft-sided coolers. So, if you think about bringing your hard-sided cooler, please keep it back at home.

Progressive Field Food, Water Bottle, and Drinks Policy
In the Progressive Field, you can bring only a sealed water bottle not larger than 20 oz. Also, empty bottles are permitted to be kept. Please keep in mind only one water bottle is allowed for a single person.
Also, you can bring outside food as well, but not in glass containers. No outside beverages are allowed, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Please remember, you can’t go into the following Premium Seating areas with food and beverage.

- The Discount Drug Mart Club
- The Kaulig Companies Club and
- The Terrace Club.

So, the following discussion will help you to make an informed decision about what items you can bring with you. This will help you to enjoy the hassle-free amusement of your favorite team.
Banners and Signs
Like most ballparks in the USA, banners and signs are permitted into the Progressive Field. But, you have to follow the following rules for your brought banners and signs.
- No obstruct of eyesight for any guests
- No obscene, political, or abusive language
- No commercials
- Banners may not be hung from the face of the Upper Deck in front of 400 sections.
- Banners and signs aren’t allowed in the premium seating areas mentioned earlier.
Cameras and Video Recorders
You are allowed to bring cameras and video recorders. But you can only use them for personal reasons like vlogging, personal photographs, videographies, etc.
No commercial or reproduction of the game is allowed. They are strictly prohibited. Also, keep the following things in mind.
- Bringing and using tripods and monopods are prohibited.
- All logos, team names, players’ likenesses, etc., are copyrighted.
- Reselling of photos and videos inside the ballpark is prohibited.
If you violate the rules, you will be first asked to cease these types of activities. If you refuse to cease these prohibited activities, the field Authority will escort you out of the field.
Cellphones and Other Electronics
Cell phones and similar devices are allowed. But please remember, you can’t interfere with the enjoyment or view of other guests with your devices.
Also, the field staff aren’t allowed to use such devices during the gameplay. They can use them in designated break times.
Strollers
Strollers are allowed. But, they must be able to be folded under the seat. Also, you can check them in at the entry gates.
However, strollers are not permitted to store or put on the aisle of the seats.
Service Animals
Service animals are allowed for disabled persons who need them. Service animals include dogs and miniature horses. They must be trained and certified as service animals.
Umbrellas
Only one umbrella for one person is allowed. Not a big one is allowed, just one which can cover one person. You can only use the umbrella in rain delay or when the field is covered with traps.
Prohibited Items in Progressive Field
Now, let’s check all types of prohibited items in the Progressive Field of Cleveland Guardians. The following items are simply NOT permitted here.
Weapons
Any type of weapon is prohibited in Progressive Field. They include all types of firearms knives, including pocket knives, blades, and so on.
Action Sports Equipment
No action sports equipment is allowed. They include the following:
- Skateboards
- Roller blades
- Roller skates
- Scooters, and many more.
Laser Pointers
Laser pointers and similar devices are strictly prohibited. They are issues for safety, and they interfere with games and guests’ amusement.
Please remember that you can be taken out of the ballpark if you try to enter the ballpark with such equipment.
Other Prohibited Items List
Aside from these, the following contains the other prohibited items inside the Progressive Field.
- It is forbidden to wear headdresses or face paint that alludes to or appropriates American Indian cultures and customs.
- Illegal drugs and alcoholic beverages
- Broom
- Chewing tobacco
- Any items that pose a risk to the public
- Cameras with telephoto lenses or lenses larger than 100 mm
- Butterfly net
- Glass
- Cans
- Thermos bottles
- Squeeze bottles
- Wrapped gifts
- Any smoking devices, including electronic cigarettes, vapors, etc.
- Pets, except for service animals
- Poles or sticks, selfie sticks, etc.
- Larger bags than the mentioned size, backpacks, and hard-sided coolers

Fan Code of Conducts
Here are some of the most important codes of conduct for fans they must follow. Refusing to follow the codes may be subject to refusal of entrance to the park.
So, as a loyal baseball fan and a lawful person, you should obey the rules.
- Re-entry Code: Progressive Field allows fans to re-enter the field after exiting. But, you must do so through a dedicated gate at the left field gate.
- Wheelchair: Wheelchairs are available at all entry gates for disabled fans. You can use them and have to return them after reaching your designated seat. While needed after the game, you must notify Fan Services for the wheelchairs again. You can’t keep them with you beside the seat.
- No Obscene Activities: Please avoid clothing promoting obscene or abusive language. Also, don’t use obscene language, images, or any other postures.
- No Adult Activities: Please keep yourself refrained from showing any adult activities or any affection to your partner.
- Follow the Ticket Rule: You are bound to show your ticket while checking. This could happen at any time. So please cooperate with the checkers.
- No Disturbance: Please don’t do any activities that disturb the normal way of playing games. This may include trying to enter the outfield, obstructing other guests’ sights, etc.
- Report Any Suspicious Activities: Please report any suspicious activities to the police if you notice one or more. Try to report directly in person. Reporting over communication devices is discouraged.

The security initiatives are enhanced in the Progressive Field. While entering, you must go through obstructive, walk-through metal detectors.

Do I Need a Ticket for My Child?
If your child doesn’t reach his/her 3, he/she doesn’t need any ticket. He can sit on your lap. However, children and people aged more than 3 are required tickets to enter the Progressive Field gameday.
