If I observe Twins, they have a balance in their team. Their solid batting and pitching both work side by side.

The Tampa Bay Rays are known for their strategic approach. In other words, the Rays are a team that always tries to maximize their resources.

Still, their weak point is aging star players. It will be tough for them to defend their titles this time due to new talent on other teams.
- Milwaukee Brewers

The Wild Card Series in 2023 was heating up, but it was a bit different this year. As you know, it used to have four teams, but in 2023, eight teams were battling it out.

I think the MLB regular season is a marathon, not a sprint. It is a grueling 162-game journey that separates the contenders from the pretenders.
Every win and loss counts. The best teams battle it out for a shot at postseason glory. Now, let’s move towards the discussion of the further format of the MLB, Divisions, and Wild Cards.
There are two leagues of Major League Baseball (MLB):
- AL (American League)
- NL (National League)
Then, there are six franchises in each of both leagues. I mean to say, six teams from the American League and six teams from the National League advanced to the postseason from their regular seasons. This means AL and NL remain separate until the World Series.
When the regular season wraps up, the champions of the six divisions of the MLB automatically secure spots in the playoffs. These champions include:
- AL East
- AL Central
- AL West
- NL East
- NL Central
- NL East
Similarly, the three teams with the best win-loss records in each league also earn their place in the postseason. When I start heading into the playoffs, each of the six AL and six NL teams receives a 1-6 seeding.
You know the 1-6 seeding given to them is actually based on how strong their regular-season performance was.
The top two seeds in both the AL and NL receive a bye. It means they skip the Wild Card Series and advance directly to the next stage.
What are the Wild Card Series matchups?
Here are the Wild Card Series matchups for the 2023 MLB postseason:
