In a 2018 edition, Marucci improved its Hex Alloy with a redesigned barrel. I can assure you that it is focused on balance.

There are many differences between Marucci CAT7 vs Marucci Hex Alloy. I personally prefer Marucci CAT7 the most. Marucci Hex Alloy has become an old model. Despite it being an old model, it is still famous to use it in the early practicing days.

The CAT7 is built from the same one-piece alloy as the CAT6. Moreover, it is giving a balanced feel who prioritizes bat speed and contact. 

To address the needs of hitters, the CAT7 is created with a carbon fiber handle and energy, AZ4X alloy barrel adjusted with double the sweet spot of the CAT6.

I would like to score CAT7 a 9 out of 10 for its outstanding performance. Whereas Marucci Hex is great at practicing. Mainly for kids, Marucci Hex is preferable.

The 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy’s quality falls between the CAT 7 and the Marucci F5. It also comes in a different size that the CAT 7 doesn’t.  Hex Alloy is only available in a USSSA 2 3/4 drop 10 configuration. Where on the other hand, the CAT series are always up to date. The latest CAT series is CAT9 which is slaying the sports market. 

One plus point for Hex Alloy users is that the CAT 7 does not come in a drop 10. I would suggest Hex Alloy if you prefer the drop 10 2 3/4 space.

Players of all ages and leagues can use these bats. Marucci CAT7 series are basically for tournament play so this bat will be two and three-quarters so it has that massive barrel. Drop ten is the lightest for everyone from a kid to older batters.

One thing which I found the most unique in the CAT line of bats is patented anti-vibration technology.

However, in CAT7 the anti-vibration technology has been upgraded. I have found that each backside acted upon contact. The components that make up the anti-vibration knob also weigh about 2 ounces.

The two ounces are placed underneath the players’ hands, and the swing lowers the swing weight and balance. 

The entire CAT7 is also formulated using a new AZ4X alloy. The manufacturing took around two long years to develop the new stronger alloy. It not only has a longer external hitting surface but is also a finely-tuned ring free 7 variable wall design. Inside the CAT7 this creates a sweet spot twice the size of the CAT6.

The design of  Hex Alloy is very unique and eye-catching. The 2018 Marucci Hex Alloy 2 has a longer barrel. It has a lower swing weight than the 2015/16 predecessor, which we affectionately dubbed the Skittle.
